Ovulation = LMP + Cycle -14 | Fertile days = Ovulation ±5/1 | Due = LMP+280+(Cycle-28)

LMP is first day last period. Ovulation tests detect LH.

Ovulation and fertile window: period, fertile days and fertility calendar

Need to estimate ovulation and fertile days? Enter last period and cycle length to get ovulation, fertile days, fertility calendar and due date. The tool covers ovulation, fertile period, fertile days and cycle calculation with formulas so you can check the result instead of trusting a single number.

TL;DR

  • Ovulation occurs about 14 days before the next period, not 14 days after the last
  • Formulas: Ovulation = LMP + Cycle -14 | Fertile days = Ovulation ±5/1 | Due = LMP+280+(Cyc
  • Example 1: Cycle 28 days, LMP Jan 1

How it works

Ovulation occurs about 14 days before the next period, not 14 days after the last. The calculator subtracts 14 days from cycle length to estimate ovulation, expands 5 days before and 1 day after for fertile days and adds 280 days for due date with Naegele corrected for cycle.

The math

Ovulation = LMP + cycle -14. Fertile days = ovulation -5 ... +1. Due date = LMP+280+(cycle-28).

LMP is first day last period. Ovulation tests detect LH.

Examples

Example 1: Cycle 28 days, LMP Jan 1

  1. LMP Jan 1, cycle 28
  2. Ovulation Jan 15, fertile days Jan 10-16
  3. Due Oct 8

Example 2: Longer 35-day cycle, LMP Mar 3

  1. LMP Mar 3, cycle 35: ovulation Mar 24 (Mar 3 + 35 - 14)
  2. Fertile days Mar 19-25, five days before plus one day after ovulation
  3. Due date Dec 15 (Mar 3 + 280 days, plus 7-day cycle correction)

When to use it

Fertile window

Estimate fertile days for conception.

Due date planning

Add 280 days to the last period, corrected for cycle length, to estimate the due date for medical bookings.

⚠ Common mistakes

  • Ovulation is not always day 14.
  • Counting ovulation as day 14 for every cycle length; subtract 14 from your own cycle instead.

FAQ (6)

When does ovulation occur?

About 14 days before next period.

Can stress shift ovulation?

Yes, illness, stress and irregular cycles move ovulation; the fertile window estimate assumes a regular cycle.

What happens to my weight, height or other health data?

It never leaves your phone. BMI, BMR, body-fat — all computed on-device, no upload, no account. That's intentional for health data: you can check a BMI of 22.8 or a TDEE of 2,100 kcal without worrying about a server log. Closing the tab clears the form from memory.

Does it work offline at the gym or on a plane?

Yep. Once the page has loaded, the calculators are fully offline-first. I've used the pace and BMI tools in airplane mode between flights — no spinner, no retry, just instant numbers. Same for sleep cycles if you're planning a shift.

Can my doctor rely on these numbers?

They're solid estimates using published formulas (WHO for BMI, Mifflin-St Jeor for BMR, CKD-EPI for GFR) but they're not a diagnosis. Think of them as a conversation starter: good for tracking trends, but your GP or nephrologist should interpret GFR, heart age or pregnancy dates with labs and context. We link the sources at the bottom for that reason.

How can I share my result with a trainer or doctor?

Use 'Share Link' in the results panel. It builds a URL with your inputs — for example BMI 70kg/175cm — so they see exactly what you entered. No data is stored on our side, the link just carries the numbers.
