Hourly to Annual Salary: convert wage to yearly pay

Hourly wage and annual salary are two sides of the same coin. This converter translates between them, handling full-time 2080 hours, part-time, overtime at 1.5×, and tax brackets.

How it works

Annual = hourly × hours/week × 52. For overtime, hours beyond 40 are multiplied by 1.5. Net subtracts tax. The reverse divides annual by total hours.

The math

52 weeks per year is the standard. Full-time 40h × 52 = 2080h. Part-time uses actual hours. Overtime premium is 0.5× extra.

FormulasAnnual = Hourly × Hours × 52 | Hourly = Annual ÷ (Hours × 52)

Simple multiplication/division. No compounding.

Examples

$20/h full-time

  1. $20 × 40 × 52 = $41,600

$50k annual

  1. $50,000 ÷ 2080 = $24.04/h
