Perimeter measures the boundary distance around a 2D shape, representing a linear unit (meters, feet). Area measures the total 2-dimensional surface enclosed inside that boundary, expressed in square units (m², sq ft).
Matematiksel Analiz ve Formüller
For standard rectangular regions, finding the area requires multiplying the length by the width. Finding the perimeter requires adding the length and width and doubling the sum.
To find area, multiply the two orthogonal dimensions. To find perimeter, add length and width and multiply by 2.

Example 1: Measuring a rectangular bedroom floor
- Length: 5.0 meters, Width: 4.0 meters
- Calculate Area: 5.0 × 4.0 = 20.0 square meters (m²)

Example 2: Sizing an outdoor fence line
- Length: 12 feet, Width: 8 feet
